A Prayer – author unknown
For the joy of summer sunrise and refreshing drops of rain
We are thankful
For the gift of each new morning and the chance to try again
We are thankful
For a child who smiles like sunshine and whose cuddles conquer pain
We are thankful
For life’s harmonies and discords, for life’s comforts and its strain
We are thankful
For this child who brings fresh feelings and new reasons for each day
We are thankful
For her eyes that speak with meaning and mere words cannot convey
We are thankful
For the hours and the minutes and the seconds of each day
For smiles and warming handshakes when they don’t know what to say
For the strength of love here present – may it never, never fade away
We are thankful!

"Hope" is the thing with feathers - Emily Dickinson
Hope" is the thing with feathers—
That perches in the soul—
And sings the tune without the words—
And never stops—at all—

And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard—
And sore must be the storm—
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm—

I've heard it in the chillest land—
And on the strangest Sea—
Yet, never, in Extremity,
It asked a crumb—of Me.

HOPE

By: Sri Chinmoy

Hope abides; therefore I abide.
Countless frustrations have not cowed me.
I am still alive, vibrant with life.
The black cloud will disappear,
The morning sun will appear once again
In all its supernal glory.
